VDP SERIES Oil diffusion pumps Diffusion vacuum pumps of the VDP series are high vacuum pumps with a speed of action from 3000 l/s to 50,000 l/s and a ultimate pressure of up to 10 -7 Torr. Diffusion High-Vacuum Pumps are designed for evacuating air, gases, vapors, and vapor-gas mixtures from sealed vacuum systems. The pumped media must be non-aggressive to the pump construction materials and the working fluid and must not contain condensable moisture or mechanical contaminants. ND pumps are intended for operation together with a backing (forevacuum) pump as part of stationary vacuum systems and technological installations.
- Pump Monitoring and Protection For continuous monitoring and safe operation, VDP pumps are equipped with:
■ Temperature switch mounting point for the cooling water circuit - ■ Thermocouple socket for monitoring working fluid temperature

Operating Principle

The operating principle of an oil diffusion pump is based on entrainment and transport of gas molecules by high-velocity jets of oil vapor discharged through nozzle openings toward the pump outlet. The VDP pump consists of: Cylindrical corrugated housing; Vapor jet assembly with multi-stage nozzles; Oil heating system; Oil baffle. The optimized internal design provides excellent pumping performance and high specific pumping characteristics.
